The third and final session of the Reducing Housing Barriers to Jail Diversion Community of Practice explored the role that courts, such as specialty courts, can play in facilitating diversion interventions. This session highlighted the different intervention models available through the court systems and their coordination with services, such as Intensive Case Management and embedded clinicians. During this session, participants discussed current jail diversion efforts in their communities and the barriers they face. Lastly, attendees had the opportunity to hear from guest speakers from Cuyahoga County, OH, and Austin, TX, who shared about their diversion programs and housing models for individuals with behavioral health needs.
