Reporting Cycle Summary
Met and corresponded with grantee 3 times between July and September 2024 on 8/16, 8/23, and 9/16
Successes/Updates
feels they are making strides to move forward with OFR, met with new health officer who has experience with reviews. Displayed interest in meeting with IIR on steps to move forward
data collection system may change soon - concerned about what that may look like
intending on applying for mentee program through CHJ
talked through officer buy in and the need for that in programmatic success
Challenges
not getting referrals from law enforcement - considering circling back around to relationship between law enforcement and health dept. Advised the SO and PD dont seem to understand their roles but always helpful when asked - only peers are doing post overdose response - lots of stigma still attached to utilizing law enforcement as a partner
Resources provided
officer buy in doc
sample policy and procedure from Hamilton Co, OH QRT
Suggestions for further TA
continue regularly scheduled TA coaching calls
work alongside CHJ and IIR to move towards goal of establishing OFR
