On June 13, 2024, a SLATT team member and two SMEs provided the second of two technical assistance training deliveries to regional law enforcement and criminal justice practitioners in Chicago, Illinois. The SLATT DISRUPT training was comprised of the SLATT Program overview, a high-level threat overview, the “First Amendment-Protected Events Refresher,” and the “Organized Violent Extremism at Protest-Style Events” lesson. SLATT Program resources, to include SLATT resource cards, were provided to all attendees, and QR codes were available to download presentation resources and to provide evaluative feedback. Approximately 35 participants attended the training. Of the attendees who provided feedback, 100% found the information useful; 86% were satisfied with the course, found the course relevant to their job, indicated that their knowledge increased, and that they would apply what they had learned; and 71% indicated that they would recommend the course to others. Attendees appreciated the content focused on militia groups, noting the upcoming national convention and presidential election.
