The Community Supervision Resource Center (CSRC) is developing a series of self-assessment toolkits for releasing authorities and community supervision agencies to explore emerging and evidence-based supervision practices.
The toolkit designed for releasing authorities will be introduced during this session. The toolkit will:
• Highlight and encourage the use of evidence-based practices that support the success of people on supervision.
• Help releasing authority chairs and members understand how their policies and practices impact community supervision agencies.
• Suggest strategies for strengthening partnerships between releasing authorities and their local supervision agencies.
• Guide agency leaders and releasing authority members through a gaps analysis in key areas to assess how well their current practices align with best practices.
Participants will be asked to score and discuss certain elements of the Releasing Authority Toolkit to inspire taking action to improve their current practices. Participants will have the opportunity to share feedback about the toolkit with CSRC faculty. Training and technical assistance opportunities offered through the CSRC to assist releasing authorities will also be discussed during this session.
