Tribal Community Corrections & Re-Entry Program
The National Criminal Justice Training Center (NCJTC) is proud to be the training and technical assistance provider for the Tribal Corrections Capacity Building program funded through the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). Under this project, NCJTC will offer both in-person and virtual training and technical assistance to American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities with tribal jails, community corrections, and diversion & reentry programs.
We understand the challenges confronting your communities and will provide resources to empower your justice system and reentry professionals as they develop the skills necessary to help those involved in the criminal justice system. NCJTC offers a broad range of learning formats to meet your needs; we can offer in-person trainings, self-paced courses, webinars (live and recorded), and community forums that will strengthen your justice system response, improve your service delivery, and enhance your coordination with other stakeholders.
There a several foundational pieces of this project, including our highly evaluated TRIBAL PROBATION & RE-ENTRY ACADEMY. This intense virtual course is intended for those looking to better understand the building blocks of community corrections. Also, we can provide training on specialized topics for offender populations that include advanced motivational interviewing, restorative justice practices, evidence-based practices & assessment, officer safety, and/or drug identification. Finally, if you are looking for individualized training or coaching assistance for your program, feel free to reach out to our staff here at NCJTC to discuss possibilities.
