The following activities occurred during this reporting period:
• The COSSUP TTA Program offers a variety of learning opportunities and assistance to support BJA COSSUP grantees and other local, tribal, and state stakeholders to build and sustain multidisciplinary criminal justice responses to illicit substance use and misuse. TTA is provided in a variety of formats, including virtual and in-person training events, workshop and meeting presentations, and online resources. TTA deliveries are provided to requestors free of charge.
• The COSSUP TTA Program supports communities by, among other things, facilitating peer-to-peer learning opportunities in which communities can learn from experienced programs through virtual consultations and on-site visits; providing speakers for conferences and workshops or skilled subject-matter experts for training events to educate stakeholders and build capacity; facilitating strategic and cross-systems planning to identify community resources, establish priorities, and develop a road map to achieving goals; identifying materials such as policies and procedures, guidelines, and data sharing agreements that support program activities; and supporting prescription drug monitoring programs (PDMPs) by increasing PDMP efficiencies and facilitating coordination between PDMPs and state and national stakeholders.
• A section of the COSSUP Resource Center is dedicated to the COSSUP TTA Program and provides information on the program, its offerings, and the COSSUP TTA providers.
• IIR—on behalf of the COSSUP TTA Program—offers a centralized online system for requesting all forms of TTA through the completion of a brief online application form (https://cossapresources.org/Program/TTA). An IIR team member reviews and triages the requests as they are received and then forwards each one to BJA. BJA reviews each submission to match the request with the COSSUP TTA provider (or team of providers) with the appropriate expertise. Upon approval by BJA, an IIR team member then forwards the request to the TTA provider (or team of providers) specified by BJA so that they can contact the requestor to discuss specific needs and plan for delivery of the TTA.
• During this reporting period, IIR continued to maintain the TTA section of the COSSUP Resource Center, the online TTA request form, and the TTA Tracker—a secure administrative feature of the COSSUP Resource Center that allows TTA providers to report details about TTA, change the status of TTA information, and search the TTA database.
• The total number of TTA requests processed from the inception of the COSSUP TTA Program (October 2017) through December 31, 2023, is 3,651.
• From July 1, 2023, through December 31, 2023, IIR received and processed 211 TTA requests.
