The Center maintains a Court-Builders listserv that hosts over 530 active subscribers and shares examples of promising practices, lessons learned, and timely news among the community court field. The listserv continues to be a valuable tool for peer-to-peer communication. From July through December 2023, users made 16 original posts (with many more posts in response) that included updated practices in the field, questions about current services that courts are offering, and support around common issues. Over the past six months, members of the Court-Builders listerv shared resources and facilitated collaboration among members about important issues such as Quality of Life assessment tools, contemporary reporting on homelessness, and the recent work of the Downtown Austin Community Court on both helping housing insecure participants and engaging with their local community.
The Court-Builders listserv also publicized notable events like the publication of the new Center resource for community courts Mapping Community Resources, Reno Community Court Judge Hazlett-Stevens’ recognition as a Champion of Justice, and the 30th anniversary celebrations of the Midtown Community Justice Center.
