During this review period, the team discussed the requirements of PREA Standard 115.315. The PC was assisted with her presentation to the leadership team and to form a workgroup to begin discussing the PREA Standards. The meeting went well, and the leadership committed to providing resources necessary for PREA compliance. The team discussed scheduling a PREA audit for 2024. Coaches cautioned that without access to documentation or policy, it's difficult to assess whether the facility is prepared for an audit. The department continues to wait for budget approval to move forward with grant strategies. A NCE has been submitted. There is an overall challenge to be effective with one-on-one PC coaching without access to policy and documentation. The PC wanted to continue receiving support to develop her PREA Committee, assistance with understanding the standards, and guidance on how to facilitate meetings with the leadership team. Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MCASA) was contracted to deliver a 2-day training on boundaries, cross-gender supervision, and LGBT youth. A Survey of Sexual Victimization was received and submitted. The PC is no longer employed by the department effective November 20, 2023. Coaching sessions will focus on grant strategies until a PC is identified.
