On December 13, 2023, the SLATT team hosted a webinar titled, Threat Assessment Threat Management Overview for Law Enforcement Executives. Prior to delivery, members of the SLATT team developed and broadly disseminated an electronic training flyer to promote the webinar and to enable registration. In addition, the webinar was highlighted in the bi-weekly Bureau of Justice Assistance, Global Justice Information Sharing Initiative, Criminal Intelligence Coordinating Council, “Five in 5” publication, as well as in the weekly International Association of Chiefs of Police, Division News, State and Provincial Police publication. The first portion of the ninety-minute webinar consisted of a SLATT Program overview, to include providing a QR code that linked attendees to SLATT resources. The second portion of the webinar was delivered by a retired FBI special agent and SME who discussed the importance of threat assessment threat management (TATM) teams as a means of preventing or mitigating the risk of targeted violence. The primary audiences for the webinar were law enforcement leaders contemplating the creation of TATM teams in their judications, and criminal justice personnel seeking to increase their knowledge of TATM concepts as a means of protecting communities. Approximately 128 attendees from SLTT and federal law enforcement and criminal justice departments and agencies participated in the webinar. Of those attendees who provided responses, 100 percent found the information useful, 100 percent indicated that the information increased or somewhat increased their knowledge, and 89 percent found the speakers to be excellent. Participants noted that the webinar contained “very good and pertinent information,” particularly “regarding aspects of threatening behaviors,” that the “presenters were knowledgeable of topics,” and that they looked “forward to future TATM sessions.”
