On September 14, 2023, a SLATT SME delivered in-person training to attendees at the Montana U.S. Attorney’s Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council (ATAC) Annual Conference, hosted in Helena, Montana. The training consisted of a presentation titled, Elmer Stewart Rhodes, III and Oath Keepers 2009 – 2022: The Rise and Fall of the Modern Militia Movement 2.0 and included an overview of the history of Elmer Stewart Rhodes, III; the Oath Keepers organization; and the investigation and prosecution of Oath Keepers members for their actions on January 6, 2021. A SLATT Program Overview presentation was also provided along with SLATT resource cards. Approximately 58 criminal justice personnel attended the SLATT training session, to include the U.S. Attorney, who provided opening remarks at the onset of the event. Of those attendees who provided an evaluation, 100 percent were satisfied with the course, found the information useful, found the instructors knowledgeable and effective, responded that their knowledge increased, and that they would recommend the course to others. Attendees commented that the “update on Oath Keepers was relevant” and that the SLATT SME was an “excellent presenter.”
