With regard to the Equity and Inclusion standard, treatment courts must rectify racial and ethnic disparities in treatment courts. To aid courts in supporting minoritized participants, American University’s Racial and Ethnic Disparities Initiative (REDI) webinar offers best practices and innovative strategies
As treatment court professionals adhere to the Equity and Inclusion adult treatment court best practice standard, it is vital that programs are examined for disparities and that remedies are implemented. Research shows that Black/African American treatment court participants often have the lowest graduation rates. For courts, who are interested in improving the experiences of racial and ethnic minorities in their programs, the Racial and Ethnic Disparities Initiative (REDI) project at American University (AU) is hosting a webinar that will discuss best practices and innovative strategies to work with minoritized participants.
This webinar will cover:
How policies contribute to success and failure.
The role of culture in treatment courts.
Innovative strategies to prompt success.
The lived experiences of a treatment court participant.
