Certification course to investigate officer involved critical incidents
The nature of the problem(s) or issue(s)
Currently, all Milwaukee County and two Waukesha County agencies (24 agencies) are part of an investigation group that investigates officer-involved critical incidents for its members, in a true, impartial, transparent, and systematic way. We also have both County DA's offices, the State Patrol, and State Crime Lab involved as well. As of our last time checking, this is still the only group like this in the U.S. Many of our members have attended Force Science's two-day class, but this is one of the most important investigations any LEO can be a part of. Therefore we are looking to get funding to train our members with Force Science to get their 'certification' course which is a 5-day course. I had previously attended and earned this certification, and it is important to what these investigators need.
