As part of CHJ's intensive TTA, individual calls will be scheduled with new FY22 grantees. Initial introductory calls included discussion about: the grantees project and deflection initiative; identifying top priorities the grantee have for their program over the next 3-6 months; and discussion to determine at what level of readiness is the grantee’s program currently at to implement these priorities.
Introductory call with Henderson team on 5/3 as part of the FY 22 New Grantee Outreach. Their project is just getting off the ground, they were particularly interested in developing their approach to dispatch, looking for insight into how other programs have structured and implemented dispatch procedures successfully. CHJ team provided sample dispatch policies and procedures utilized by another deflection site. No further TA needed - CHJ staff will connect with Henderson team periodically, see if they have developed additional resource needs as their program develops.
7/20/23 Grantee requested information about confidentiality and HIPPA for co-responder models. Their co-responder model pairs law enforcement with mental health clinicians responding together to behavioral health crises. Resources would include guidance on if clinician was able to share information freely with the officer since they are present at the time of the response. We provided them with a link to the COSSAP deflection data sharing guidance documents.
