As part of CHJ's intensive TTA, individual calls will be scheduled with new FY22 grantees. Initial introductory calls included discussion about: the grantees project and deflection initiative; identifying top priorities the grantee have for their program over the next 3-6 months; and discussion to determine at what level of readiness is the grantee’s program currently at to implement these priorities.
Introductory call held 7/13/23 with Bryan Sualog and Jurea Williams, Project Director, as part of FY22 new grantee outreach. Their program is looking to expand their post-arrest and reentry services. Have experienced challenges in their work collaborating with local police department, interested in trainings on the science of addiction and stigma reduction to improve officer buy-in. Also looking for assistance in navigating the use of peer support specialists, increasing access to and engagement with mental health resources, and developing a more robust system of client follow-up/case management. CHJ team will provide resources.
9/7/23 - CHJ staff sent North Las Vegas team leadership information on the Deflection Conversation Framework training modules, as well as suggestions for resources related implementation of PRSS in jails and correctional facilities.
