The Safe City Commission seeks training and technical assistance (TTA) to develop an action plan for Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN) programs in Tarrant County, TX. This assistance will combine research, data, and action to create a comprehensive and sustainable plan to support effective crime prevention and crime reduction programs in Tarrant County.
Michigan State University, School of Criminal Justice (MSU), the provider is part of a preselected group of PSN providers. The team has significant experience in PSN program evaluation and implementation.Their researcher have partnered with law enforcement agencis nationwide to help solve local problems, through data collection, strategic analysis, program moitoring, and impact assessment.

As a result of a NTTAC TA request, MSU has been asked to provide assistance to the Safe City Commission in Ft. Worth, Texas. A conference call was held on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. MSU provided a scope of work which was approved by NTTAC. MSU will provide consultant rates and time commitments for NTTAC to create a budget.
MSU provided a proposed scope of work and budget. Preliminary approval was granted for an onsite visit on June 10-11, 2015. Providers will include Ed McGarrell, Chief Marty Sumner, Jim Mallard, and Heather Perez
The Scope of Work was approved on April 6, 2015.
MSU and Safe City conducted a teleconference call on 4/24/2015 to initiate site visit details (e.g., agenda, travel, and pre visit activities).
