This workshop was presented on February 27, 2023, in Los Angeles, CA as part of the 2023 APPA Winter Regional Training. This workshop was the last of a four-part series on the Reentry Toolkit that was developed as part of this funding opportunity. Parts 1 and 2 were provided as pre-recorded webinars and part 3 was presented as a workshop in Omaha, NE as part of the 2023 APPA Winter Regional Training.
The objectives of this workshop were to identify the basic requirements and goals of data collection for Tribal reentry Programs. This workshop provided information to attendees to assist in identifying what information the program wanted to know and the timeframe for collecting the required data. This workshop provided information on collecting accurate data to produce valid conclusions. The workshop discussed the need to consistently collect data, including identify who will be responsible for collecting and managing the data.
A primary objective of the workshop was to assist clients in prioritizing, collecting, and analyzing the data to foster program sustainability. This workshop provide knowledge for developing realistic data collection plans based on the priorities identified by the Tribal Reentry Programs. The workshop provided sample questions for effective data collection. The workshop discussed the different type of data collection the need to be incorporated into measuring the impact of the program on the participants and community. The workshop emphasized the use of both qualitative and quantitative data collection to identify the effectiveness and efficiency of the reentry program.
