CSG Justice Center staff conducted a site visit with the FY20 Minnesota Department of Health. The site visit was conducted to learn onsite about the Expanding Model Practices in County Jails and Community Corrections to Support Children of Incarcerated Parents program and highlight the project’s success in promoting and expanding family-friendly policies and services during parental incarceration. During the first day of the site visit, CSG Justice Center staff participated in the quarterly Learning Community with jail partners from Carlton County, Ramsey County, Renville County, Stearns County, Sherburne County, and Olmstead County facilities to discuss the implementation of policy, systems, and environmental changes that benefit children of incarcerated parents and their families. CSG Justice Center staff presented on family communication to support family reunification and reentry. On the second day of the site visit, CSG Justice Center staff led a strategic planning session with the grant team on capacity for growth and strategies for expansion to different counties across the state.
