ACA visited the agency's staff wellness program to learn more about the exemplary practices it has developed and implemented. The ACA team consisting of three (3) correctional professionals, including ACA staff from the Office of Correctional Health and a correction professional from the field who works in their agency on Staff Wellness, conducted this visit.
The team interviewed selected agency staff such as human resource administrators, wellness providers, wellness program administrators, and other related staff. During this visit, we learned more about staff wellness programming design, implementation practices, available resources, as well as gaps in staff wellness implementation. Staff Wellness program administrators and service providers were asked about their perception of staff wellness programs, the common staff wellness resources they have in their agency, their unique and exemplary practices in staff wellness, program efficiency, effectiveness, and tools and resources available on online platforms.
ACA also asked front-line staff from different disciplines who have participated in their agency's wellness program in one way or another to explore their perceptions, collect exemplary staff wellness practices, gather information, and develop opportunities for corrections staff to learn good staff wellness practices.
