In January, CSG Justice Center staff continued to socialize the guidelines and engage key partners in the field, further develop outreach strategies and project next steps, finalized the plan for the technical assistance strategies, worked to complete the next draft of the introductory webinar presentation, and finalized presentations for the Correctional Leaders Association (CLA) winter conference and American Probation and Parole Association (APPA) winter training institutes.
Throughout the month, the project team continuously met with internal CSG Justice Center colleagues, including the Communications team, to discuss the introductory webinar presentation, review of the self-assessment tool, planning for the technical assistance opportunities, and further development of the outreach strategy.
On January 18, CSG Justice Center staff held a call with Dr. Heather Tubman-Carbone (Senior Policy Advisor, Bureau of Justice Assistance) to discuss general project updates, the status of the introductory webinar presentation, the TA opportunities strategies, upcoming presentations for CLA and APPA, strategies for further socializing the guidelines, and previously shared documents. Based on this call, CSG Justice Center applied feedback BJA shared and followed up with (1) an updated Communications plan for promotion of the introductory webinar, (2) updated talking points, (3) a new proposed two-phase promotion plan to incorporate the webinar and TA opportunities, and (4) final drafts of the APPA and CLA presentations. CSG Justice Center staff await approval of the Communications plan and the proposed promotion plans.
CSG Justice Center staff worked with our web developer to transfer the self-assessment tool onto a website with a unique domain. This was accomplishedÑthe new unique domain is http://riskselfassessment.org/ and has been updated on the CSG Justice Center and PSRAC project pages.
In January, CSG Justice Center staff presented at the APPA Winter Regional Training Institutes in Columbus, OH, on January 24 and New Orleans, LA, on January 30. (We will be presenting at four of the five training institutes. The next two are on Feb. 13 and 27.) CSG Justice Center staff also presented at the CLA Winter Conference in Orlando, FL, on January 27.
Additionally, CSG Justice Center staff have been working with APPA and CLA on developing contracts to collaborate on project dissemination and engagement.
CSG Justice Center staff continued to identify other opportunities to work with other partners in the field.
