Title:Introduction to Prosecuting Technology-Facilitated Crimes and Computer Forensics for Prosecutors
Description: This introductory session will cover the practical details and intent of the remainder of the sessions in the prosecutor track of the NCCC. Additionally, the presentation will cover foundational issues regarding digital evidence in cybercrime cases. Key terminology and the importance of establishing communication with cyber investigators and digital device examiners will be highlighted. The presentation will discuss the crucial role of local and remote data and the need to demonstrate restraint when requesting judicial authority to search digital evidence. Key forensic artifacts from computers and extraction artifacts from mobile devices will also be examined.
