The National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) was asked to conduct several presentations during the 2023 National Cyber Crime Conference in April 2023 in Norwood, Massachusetts. This entry represents the speaker and presentation as follows:

Title: IoT Investigative Edge - IoT Networks
Description: The discussion will include a review of IEEE 802.15 standards, such as, 802.15.1 = WPAN/Bluetooth, 802.15.3= High Rate WPAN, 802.15.4= Low Rate WPAN. 802.15.5= Mesh Networking and associated IoT application networking (such as ZigBee, Z-Wave, Thread, LoRaWAN) and connectivity protocols (Wi-Fi, Cellular, Satellite) layers. In, addition, a review of newly released (Fall 2022) Project Connected Home over IP, renamed Matter, standard, will be introduced and discussed. Topics will include connectivity communication options and a review of some of the more commonly located "Mesh" Personal Area Networks (PAN) and Home Local Area Networks (HAN), such as Matter, Thread, Z wave, and Zigbee that may be encountered during an investigation.
