Priority Area 1: Facilitate a working group to finalize and implement administrative policy and practice changes identified during the Phase I process.
Update: In December, CSG Justice Center staff facilitated an introductory meeting with the last remaining supervision delivery system (DOC) to discuss the purpose and plan for the working group. CSG Justice Center staff compiled an implementation work plan for tracking the working group’s progress and finalized an internal and external agenda in preparation for the first meeting.
Priority Area 2: Assist the existing Court Services Tracking System (CSTS) data committee in developing a core set of supervision outcomes to measure supervision success across delivery systems.
Update: CSG Justice Center staff attended the December CSTS data committee meeting on December 7, 2022. CSG Justice Center staff compiled and shared a list of successful supervision measures with the committee chair. During the same meeting, CSG Justice Center staff provided additional detail regarding the list of success measures, which resulted in the committee having a clearer understanding of the data outcomes and data systems needed to track supervision success. CSG Justice Center staff also met with the committee chair and a DOC representative to provide guidance on the group’s needs, workplan, and timeline.
Priority Area 3: Support the development and implementation of changes to Intensive Supervised Release (ISR).
Update: In December, CSG Justice Center staff attended meetings of the ISR group and provided feedback and guidance to its members as they discussed and recommended changes to ISR. CSG Justice Center staff provided feedback to the group’s facilitator and advised the group on the development of their supervision standards definitions and the development and implementation of an incentives and sanctions grid. In addition, CSG Justice Center staff compiled and shared a supplemental document to assist the ISR group with cross-referencing their proposed guiding principles with CSG Justice Center staff’s Phase I assessment reports and the National Institute of Corrections’ Principles of Effective Intervention.
