We received assistance from BJA to deliver two "Blue Courage" classes, June 16th-20th, 2014.

How did you and/or your organization use the assistance that was provided?

Based upon the great feedback we received regarding the course, the SFPD is seeking City and County of San Francisco funding in the 2015-2016 fiscal year for five (5) Blue Courage 2-day classes and to include it in the Recruit Basic Academy.

How do you anticipate that the requested assistance will address the problems?
The San Francisco Police Department has approximately 1800 members, the majority of whom have less than 5 years of experience with the Department. In light of current events around the country, we know that this training will be extremely beneficial for this generation of police officers to develop the skills and personal courage to go out and do the hard work with the community to solve problems and bring the community together.
