During this reporting period, the Fundamentals of Task Force Operations Training course was delivered to the field twice.
1. September 14–15, 2022: Fundamentals of Task Force Operations Training— Saint Paul, Minnesota
This training was cohosted by the Ramsey County, Minnesota, Sheriff’s Office, and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. There were 40 students in attendance at the training, which was taught by three trainers: veteran CenTF trainer Robert Bushman, constitutional policing expert Thomas Martinelli, and Chief Investigator Jorge Duran of the Bureau of Investigation, San Diego, California, District Attorney’s Office, who co-presented the course for the first time. The addition of Mr. Duran expands the base of experienced CenTF trainers.
Of the 40 students, 32 submitted evaluations for the course, which noted that 26 were assigned to narcotics/drugs/vice, 3 were assigned to investigations, 2 assigned to SWAT, and 1 to a gang unit. Students’ average rating of the course was a 3.6 out of a 4-point rating scale. Students scored a 97 average on the 20-question course quiz.
