Description of the Problem

The Florida Sheriffs Risk Management Fund (FSRMF) is inter-local governmental entity comprised of approx. 90% of Florida's Sheriff's Offices. The Grants Consortium is a program developed by FSRMF's Risk Management Department, which provides comprehensive risk management services to help agencies mitigate the risks inherent to law enforcement. The Grants Consortium was launched Summer 2022 with a series of regional workshops and will be hosting a statewide meeting for all 67 Florida Sheriffs Offices in Spring 2023.

How do you anticipate that the requested assistance will address the problems?
Agencies have been experiencing significant turnover, which has resulted in local grant & financial managers with limited experience in federal grant management and administration. FSRMF's Grants Consortium provides networking and training opportunities for Florida Sheriff's Office grant and financial personnel to learn from each other, as well as industry subject matter experts. The OJP training requested in this application will help the Consortium in our mission to enhance awareness and education for local law enforcement grantees. FSRMF will provide sponsorship to attendees from rural, fiscally constrained jurisdictions to assure their participation/attendance since they are the grantees with greatest need for training.
