"IIR ensures that, within the Leadership lesson of the 2-day Fundamentals of Task Force Operations Training in-person curriculum, is instruction on the importance of data collection, as well as the value of performance measures to determine and demonstrate the effectives of the task force in addressing and reducing crime. Instruction further includes guidance on setting performance objectives, identifying key performance indicators, and an explanation of how performance measurement is used to develop task force strategies, goals, and objectives. Further, the presentation covers how ongoing performance measures demonstrate improvement and program objective achievement, as well as how results can be used to proactively to improve programs and public trust.
To further support task force’s ability to implement what they’ve learned, during this training, real-world scenarios are distributed to, and worked by, attendee groups to practice applying the information and techniques shared during the lessons. In addition, at the end of this training, students are provided with a knowledge evaluation (quiz) to measure their learning and understanding of the material provided in the course. The results of this quiz, and those that will be provided at upcoming trainings, will help to inform future content, as well as inform the development of the virtual course, to ensure increased understanding and improve knowledge gained, thus supporting better task force implementation and performance in the field."
