The SLATT Advisory Board met virtually on January 19, 2022, with all six board members in attendance. During the meeting, board members were provided with an update on the SLATT Program, to include an introduction to new IIR/SLATT team members; a review of the newly developed SLATT Program Overview slick sheet; a status on course updates and new curricula; and SLATT publications and webinars currently under development. Program partners, START and MCCA, provided the board members with updates related to their support of the SLATT Program. In addition, the director of START provided a comprehensive hate crimes presentation titled The Changing Threat Landscape of Terrorism and Violent Extremism. The presentation and post-discussion were timely, considering the attack on the Congregation Beth Israel Synagogue in Colleyville, Texas, four days prior, on January 15, 2022.
This entry relates to an advisory board meeting that convenes current and past law enforcement officials. The purpose of the meetings is to solicit feedback to improve the SLATT Program nationally.
