Description of the Problem

The Delaware County Sheriff's Office, like many departments nationally has recently experienced a large number of retirements, resulting in a leadership vacuum at the patrol level. As we develop new young leaders hope to bring in training to help give our them the tools and strategies they need to lead our young department, and serve the community at the highest level.

Additionally, as we continue to define, revise, and implement our de-escalation policies and tactics we hope to host training with recognized experts in the field to learn best case practices.

How do you anticipate that the requested assistance will address the problems?
The Delaware County Sheriff's Office believes that the development of our young leaders is critical in maintaining the highest level of service to our community. Further more we understand that de-escalation skills and tactics are critical to minimize the force necessary to keep our community safe, while at the same time helping to further establish trust between the community and law enforcement.
