Priority Area 1: Convene oversight committee to develop and administer IMPACTS program.
Update: The GRC met in August to review grantee implementation progress and begin planning for the next grant cycle and new RFGP. CSG Justice Center staff met regularly with the core implementation team to plan for the August meeting and provided feedback on the agenda and materials. Specifically, CSG Justice Center staff helped the team strategize ways to ensure that feedback from tribal grantees and partners was appropriately incorporated into options presented to the GRC for how to approach the next RFGP process.
Priority Area 2: Equitably include tribal governments in IMPACTS program planning and administration.
Update: In August, the CSG Justice Center continued the subcontracting process with Kauffman.
CSG Justice Center staff also supported the core implementation team in ensuring that the perspective of tribal grantees and partners was solicited and incorporated in planning for the next RFGP. As a result of feedback from the tribes, the GRC decided to do a separate RFGP for tribes to ensure that it is tailored to their specific needs and strengths.
Priority Area 3: Establish program data collection, monitoring, and evaluation processes.
Update: In August, CSG Justice Center staff met with the core implementation team to identify the grantee reporting measures to be shared as part of the data monitoring process. CJC and OHA staff continue to express concerns about the quality of the grantee reporting information and requested additional time to confirm the accuracy of the identified measures. CSG Justice Center staff continued to offer assistance in working with grantees and the administering agency to improve grantee reporting.
Priority Area 4: Implement county and tribal government programs funded by IMPACTS
Update: After discussions with the core implementation team, CSG Justice Center staff have decided to focus remaining implementation technical assistance resources on tribal nation grantees and subcontract with a tribe-specific provider as described in Priority Area 2.
