National DEC increased knowledge and awareness about DEC to our network of practitioners, state DEC alliances, communities, and other similarly focused local and national agencies through our staff participation in national, state and local conferences or meetings. For this meeting we provided information on the DEC Approach that supports the following goal of IACP in Indian Country:
Goal 4: Partnerships
Objective 1: Promote strong collaborative partnerships between law enforcement agencies policing tribal communities, because of the unique jurisdictional issues in Indian Country.
The ICS will place a strong emphasis on the development and fostering of collaborative partnerships between tribal, local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in an effort to provide an application of seamless law enforcement services to tribal communities.
Objective 2: Promote strong collaborative partnerships with agencies of different disciplines which assist in providing a wholistic approach to public safety in Indian Country.
