Despite the ongoing pandemic, WVDCR was able to make significant progress on their time task. During this reporting period, the grantee distributed and collected surveys for all of the pilot sites, reviewed and updated their PREA policy - an ongoing project, and provided all pilot sites with access to the data reporting system. Additionally, the grantee reviewed and updated the coordinated response protocol. According to JDI coaches, ongoing collaboration with the West Virginia Foundation for Rape Information and Services (FRIS) and local rape crisis centers looks promising thanks to new funding sources provided to the state for survivors. This is a noteworthy step towards establishing MOUs for an agency-wide hotline service. During check-in calls and through emails, the coaches provided support for the grantee?'s activities. Instructions for hosting a discussion group, sample surveys, and examples for the facility PREA compliance officer training were sent to the grantee. Although several calls were rescheduled or canceled, the coaches remained confident that grantee would give adequate time and attention to their program goals. The pandemic continues to be a barrier for several activities; however, the grantee is flexible and utilizes coaching calls to strategize ways to complete the project tasks.
