In November, CSG Justice Center staff, along with expert consultant, (1) continued to further develop the draft of the Risk Assessment Guidelines document, (2) developed the first internal draft of other deliverables proposed for this project, and (3) followed up with the advisory group to provide a brief update and next steps for the final working group virtual meeting.
CSG Justice Center staff held multiple team meetings and meetings with key advisory group members in November to continue to further develop the guidelines and discuss development of other proposed project deliverables, which include (1) a one-page, user-friendly document jurisdictions can use to relay development and validation results in a simple visual manner; (2) a two-pager for the general public, which explains how the guidelines can improve accuracy, fairness, and transparency in risk and needs assessment tools; and (3) the preliminary outline for the companion guide, which will include greater detail regarding the proposed guidelines.
On November 20, CSG Justice Center staff provided the advisory group with a brief update of the status of the project, which included the status of drafting the proposed deliverables, when to expect items for review over the coming weeks, and a calendar hold for the final working group meeting, scheduled to take place on January 8.
