Information provided to the CA SAA office regarding Mental and Behavioral Health best practices across the nation. on 8/27/20 the CA SAA office reached out to seek assistance on Behavioral Health best practices and to learn what other SAA's across the county were doing in this space. NCJA outreached to our partners with NGA and NACo to for any best practices that they could pass along. Additionally NCJA did research on other SAA practices and nationwide trends. A memo was put together for the CA SAA and sent over on 9/11/20. A meeting was held on 9/14/30 to review the information in the memo and discuss any further steps. Additionally, NCJA attended the SAA's focus groups for sub awardees that were held on October 6th and October 8th to listen for any additional trends.

8/27/20 CA SAA outreached for Assistance
Outreach to NACo and NGA occurred from 9/1/20-9/8/20 to request assistance with potential best practices that they might be able to compile to assist CA with. Both partners provided information on Mental and Behavioral Health Trends.
Through research and utilizing internal data tools NCJA collected information and compiled best practices. A memo was put together to lay out best practices and trends nationwide.
A meeting was held with NCJA and the CA SAA office to discuss the findings in the memo. The information was received very well and found very helpful.
Two NCJA members attended Listening Sessions for Public Comment regarding the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) 2022-2025 Spending Priorities meeting hosted by the CA SAA office.
