Chris is reaching out to schedule a phone call with representatives from Cleveland PD to gauge interest in a trauma-informed approach training in Ohio. Once a phone conversation is held, if the grantee is interested, SAKI TTA will begin working with RAINN representatives to ensure sufficient and effective planning of the training is maintained. The training might be a combination of in-person and virtual delivery depending on preference of the trainer and trainees.

Chris held a call with Erin Earp from RAINN and Lt. Miksch from Cleveland PD to talk through the potential of hosting a training in Cleveland. The Lt. mentioned that there is certainly a need for her staff of 18 detectives given that about half of them didn't get the sexual assault specific training that they would have typically received because of COVID. She discussed the possibility of inviting outside agencies to the training and said that they would be able to host a training in their academy classroom if it ends up being in person. The conversation was great and Chris mentioned that we would circle back with the Lt. after we have discussed funding for the training and some logistics about the delivery.
Chris, Erin Earp, and Lt. Miksch held a phone call to discuss relevant topics for the event and a delivery plan. The site is specifically interested in digital evidence/corroboration and trauma-informed interviewing.
Chris will prioritize these topics and create a draft "agenda" to share with Cleveland.
Chris sent along a draft "agenda" to Lt. Miksch to outline what the training event could look like. Lt. Miksch confirmed that the topics looked great, but they are struggling to find a time to host the event. They will have to wait until the Academy classroom is opened up because that is their best opportunity to gather some of their folks in their own space for free.
Chris and Erin connected via email to talk through a few alternative speaker options, as some of the originally planned folks now have conflicts. They will continue to work together to identify the best individuals once Cleveland provides us with dates and times for the event.
Lt. Miksch circled back with Chris to let him know that the Cleveland PD is having trouble reserving a room to get their folks together. That said, this will not be able to take place in July, but will be planned moving forward for August or September. Chris will reach back out to the trainers and see what dates we may can host this for.
