Keeley reached out to see if other SAKI sites have conducted an audit of their SAKI case reviews. WI DOJ has an embedded research unit that is looking to evaluate their overall response to sexual assault, utilizing the SAFER recommendations as metrics. Keeley is interested in an in-depth evaluation or audit of the case reviews they have completed.
Amanda responded to Keeley on 6/30 with potential dates to hold a phone call to discuss request further.
Amanda Young, Jim Markey, and Crystal Daye held a call with Keeley and Chris from WI DOJ. During this call, WI DOJ expressed interest in an assessment of their case review process and work with local jurisdictions. WI DOJ would like to idnetify gaps and challenges that have come from the case review process (both at WI DOJ and local jurisdictions)
RTI will discuss and decide how the process could potentially go and provide an overview to WI DOJ
Amanda reached out to follow up with Keeley on the type of information being provided in a report to local agencies after WI DOJ completes a case review for CODIS hits received. Amanda provided guidance on the CODIS hit packets developed by KBI as well as templates of the CODIS hit packet documents.
Amanda reached out to Keeley to see if she had an opportunity to speak with her team about the SAU Assessment proposal. Keeley noted that her director spoke to their Chief Legal Counsel about the assessment opportunity and that he will now be talking to the Attorney General about it. Keeley noted that a decision would likely take some time.
