Developing Policies and Procedures to Support Tribal Probation and the Implementation of Best Practices. (Note: this could be a section within a regional or a standalone 2.5-3 day in-depth class)
This intensive training will provide the necessary framework for the development and or enhancement of Tribal Probation Policies and Procedures which will include: Reviewing codes for guidance, Analyzing current needs and practices, structuring and developing policies and procedures and garnering by-in from leadership.
Additionally time will be made available for participants to begin the development and or enhancement of their own departmental Policies and Procedures.

Risk assessment: review all the different types of tools out there, how to determine which assessment might best fit their community needs, practicing prioritizing probationers on their caseload by risk/need level, etc. and other topic to fill remaining time TBD.
