Monthly Status:
In June, CSG Justice Center staff, along with an expert consultant, debriefed on the second working group meeting, which led to the development of a second survey and further discussions regarding next steps of the working group and project team action items. During this time, the project team also worked to find additional experts in the field to invite to become a part of the advisory group.
Based on the second working group meeting, the project team developed a second survey to gauge consensus on definitions of risk and needs, how to improve equity, and level of agreement on contexts to consider that may impact risk and needs assessment. During the beginning of June, the project team followed up with working group participants to share a meeting invitation to the third virtual meeting set to take place on June 25, a copy of the notes from the second working group meeting, and a link to the second survey.
Toward the end of June, the project team was able to add five new advisory group members to increase diversity of the working group. At this time, the project team thought it best to reschedule the third working group meeting, now set to take place on July 14, to allow time for introduction calls with new members and to incorporate their responses into the surveys. Additionally, during this time, the new CSG Justice Center research division director has also joined the project.
