Description of the Problem

Honolulu saw an increase of crime in 2019 over the previous year. Robberies alone increased more than 14%. More shocking, was the increased use of firearms in robberies which rose 45%. There has also been significant increases in crimes against the elderly, most alarmingly are purse snatching robberies that have even caused the death of one elderly female. By going behind the numbers and providing patterns, trends and additional data, we feel that we can leverage our resources and personnel to attack the problem.
