The Center for Public Safety and Justice (CPSJ), located within the University of Illinois, proposed to work with the University of Memphis to complete a BJA-approved national curriculum on the topic of Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training for police professionals. This engagement was subsequently transferred to CNA after the key curriculum developer accepted a position with CNA.

How do you anticipate that the requested assistance will address the problems?
CPSJ will work closely with Dr. Dupont, traveling to Memphis when necessary, to gain access to his project work to date as well as the existing “raw materials” for curriculum development and design he has assembled. Based on our initial assessment of available materials, CPSJ will perform additional research or begin the development process.
