The goal is to make certain the officer understand that report writing is part of police duties and responsibilities.
Requesting for police report writing on site. We have 25 commission police officer that write an average of 1 police report per shift. We get them submitted but usually we have issue with grammar, sentence fragment, incomplete report, writing unnecessary information, problem with putting thought into the report, etc. The training is to have an understanding for structure and importance to have a compete detail report. We want to get them into thinking about chronological order when writing the incident report and the incident report should complement the probable cause statement.
