We are facing a problem with both tenured and junior sworn personnel who need a re-commitment to the basic principles of the profession, either due to tenure, lack of maturity, and many other reasons. We have also faced a few recent challenges in decision making regarding off duty actions that have resulted in a lot of bad publicity, reduction in public trust and some good people making poor choices resulting in significant discipline. I see this program as a way to invigorate and re-invigorate our commitment to doing the right thing as individuals, and our agency serving the needs of both the community within our department and the community we serve outside the department.

We would like to host "Blue Courage" training on behalf of all Yavapai County LE agencies, which includes County, Municipal and Tribal LE. I received permission from and commitment to this training from all agency heads in Yavapai County prior to submitting this request. Yavapai County Sheriff's Office is largely a rural agency, with pockets of urban area. There are two tribal agencies included, and the rest are municipal agencies serving between 5,000-40,000 citizens depending on the agency. The latest census indicates about 212,000 people live in the entire Yavapai County area, and a little less than half of that live in the unincorporated area served by the Sheriff's Office.
Milestones are an element, activity, work product, or key task associated with completing the TTA (e.g. kick-off meeting, collect data from stake holders, deliver initial data analysis).
Please complete the fields below, if applicable, to create a milestone for this TTA.
