The Newark, New Jersey Police Division requested assistance through BJA NTTAC to measure and analyze both crime and our community policing strategies. AH Analytics was selected to facilitate the assistance and conducted a two-day onsite visit with the agency in March 2020. Ben Horwitz developed a report with recommendations specific to training, technology, products/functionality, and staffing to optimize existing crime analysis capacity.
The Newark Police Division is under a Consent Decree. The purpose of this request is to obtain assistance with data analysis, which will enhance our ability to comply with the Consent Decree. Such assistance will also enable NPD to conduct more robust data analysis, which will further our efforts in crime reduction and community engagement. NPD has specifically identified AH Datalytics and their analyst, Ben Horwitz, as having the skills to assist NPD in achieving its goals under this TTA request. NPD would greatly appreciate the assistance of AH Datalytics.
