Sarah sent a check-in email and Randi responded. "There are still some ongoing investigations and pending (victim has been notified but investigator has not gotten responses). Four cases have been referred to the prosecutor’s office so far, three declined, one accepted. We are done with all our testing and received all the results back a couple months ago. "
Randi also asked for a contact in Idaho to learn about their tracking system.
Sarah sent a check-in email to Randi. She shared:
The UAA research project is moving along. The professor is having a difficult time recruiting survivors from our target area (Bethel region) to participate in interviews. We are meeting next week to explore the possibility of shifting to talking circles to increase participation instead.
Unfortunately I do not believe Alaska will be sending a team. I originally was holding spots for myself and our prosecutor but neither of us will be able to attend.
Sarah had a check-in call with Randi and Bryan. They have begun their training of local jurisdictions and their cold case investigator has been reviewing and following up on CODIS hit cases. The research project is behind but it is still moving forward. Bethel recently received an investigator from the DA's office.
