The Enhanced Collaborative Task Force Development and Operations Roadmap was a roadmap tool that task forces can use to self-assess stages of development. Task force core elements, activities, and available support for guiding task forces through the various stages of development and operations were discussed.

Presenters to shared their roles and experience for laying a foundation for task forces, including leadership, task force structure, partnerships, and collaboration to create an effective task force, equipped to meet victim needs and successfully investigation and prosecute cases. Presenters shared lessons learned and strategies for overcoming barriers to this stage.

Attendees heard an update on the current National Institute of Justice evaluation of the ECM and learned about current research to better understand the prevalence of human trafficking and effective responses.

Presenter, Erin Albright provided attendees with a process for developing their response strategy for labor trafficking in their jurisdiction, including a template for performing a community assessment and using the resulting data to identify areas of vulnerability in their community and strategies for building capacity based on those areas.

Participants used this time to walk through specific scenarios and action planning. Participants used various templates and tools developed by BJA and OVC TTA providers to guide this planning process.
