The Memphis, Tennessee Police Department (PD), as part of the Memphis National Public Safety Partnership site, requested a crime analysis assessment. OnPoint Analytics was selected to fulfill the request and conducted an assessment between September 2019 and February 2020. OnPoint Analytics delivered a findings and recommendations report, along with a final report outlining next steps, to Memphis PD in March 2020.
Memphis PD has a need and desire to increase the efficiency and capability to analyze data and provide timely analytical products in support of the Memphis Police Departments violent crime reduction strategy.
To assess the Memphis Police Department’s crime analysis capacity and processes, along with identifying areas of analytical gaps and needs. The Memphis Police Department expects to receive feedback, recommendations and nationwide best practices related to their capability to analyze crime data.
