The Bureau of Justice Assistance engaged the Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center to integrate the priorities of the current administration into states where justice reinvestment work was initiated under the previous administration. The CSG Justice Center delivered technical assistance to Ohio, Arkansas, and North Dakota to build a greater understanding of the challenges experienced by law enforcement and county stakeholders, focus on investments in effective law enforcement strategies to reduce crime, expand access to addiction treatment and other programs for low-risk people with behavioral health and addiction challenges, and align policy and implementation recommendations around data-driven initiatives and best practices. CSG delivered a final report to BJA in September 2018.
