On September 25, 2017 the Louisiana SAA contacted the NCJA by email to discuss opportunities and potential coordination with other existing projects. This was a Tier 1 TTA request, which involves a less intensive problem-solving response that includes delivery of information through email, telephone, document dissemination and referral to websites or other resources.
The NCJA Project Manager followed up by email on October 26, 2017 with Tier 2 level support to discuss current grant obligations, needs and opportunities to collaborate. The state submitted their strategic plan for review. (Tier 2 support requires direct staff support and may involve customization of documents, training materials, and publications, as well as facilitating connections through the SAAs peer-to-peer mentor network or the network of Governors' Criminal Justice Policy Advisors). We discussed the strategic plan review and provided additional materials on October 28. A conference call with partners was held on December 4, 2017 to discuss strategies for stakeholder engagement, and whether onsite facilitation was necessary to move the plan forward. A link to an the online form was sent to the SAA on December 8, so they could submit a formal request for our records.
